NEW APPLICATIONS - ACTORS
PLEASE SEND A RECENT HEADSHOT, CV (AND SHOWREEL WHERE AVAILABLE) TO INFO@DDMP.IE. AN AGENT WILL REVIEW YOUR DETAILS AND GET IN TOUCH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE RECEIVE A HIGH VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS ON A DAILY BASIS, SO PLEASE GIVE US SUFFICIENT TIME TO REPLY
How do I apply to join your agency?
The first step is to send us a recent Headshot & CV. For those we are interested in, an introduction meeting will be arranged with an Agent to organise details such as showreels, spotlight membership, etc. If all parties are happy we will then invite you to join the agency.
(Note: For actors we feel have potential but do not have sufficient training/experience/marketing material (i.e. showreel, headshots) we may invite you to join the agency on a development basis and assist you in getting yourself ready for professional work before we submit your details for castings.)
Do you accept onto your books everyone who applies?
No. We only accept actors who we feel we can confidently represent and find work for. Furthermore, we do not flood our books with lots of faces. We keep our numbers to a compact range of actors so we can concentrate on effectively managing those we represent.
Can you guarantee me work?
No agency can absolutely guarantee you work, but, of course, we only accept actors we feel we have a chance of securing work for. We earn commission, therefore, it’s in our best interests that our actors find regular work.
How many jobs I can expect in a year?
The rate of auditions is affected by numerous factors. Also, once an audition is secured it is an actor’s responsibility to prepare and perform to the best of his/her ability. Beyond this the final decision rests with the Casting Director/Director. The most successful actors are those who train and prepare for auditions. High quality headshots & showreels are essential tools for securing invitations for casting.
Do you charge a fee to be represented by your agency?
No. We do not charge fees for representation. We earn the standard agency commission on work actor’s gain through our agency. While there are no fees to be represented by our agency, actors are required to cover their own expenses such as spotlight entry, headshots and showreels.
Can I promote myself to casting agents outside the agency?
No. It would be extremely unprofessional for casting directors to be receiving submissions for the same person(s) from two different sources. If you are with our agency you must have your photos on our site and be on Spotlight. In addition, our agency must maintain control over the quality of photos and the manner in which our actors are represented. In order for us to represent you to the best of our ability, actors must be members of ‘Spotlight’ and list ‘Flicks Agency’ as their agent.
